TOPIC A - Strengthening Accountability for Conflict-Related Sexual Violence in Post-Coup States

TOPIC B - Protection of LGBTQ+ Individuals and Refugee Statuses in Conflict and Post-Conflict Zones

The United Nations Security Council, or UNSC, constitutes the only organ of the United Nations with authority to issue binding resolutions for all UN member states. Taxed with maintaining security across the globe, the UNSC addresses all matters of pressing international concern: conflict resolution, civilian protection, trade embargos, and preemptive peacekeeping all fall under UNSC jurisdiction.

Mya Koffie is a junior in SPIA. Growing up in Indiana, Massachusetts, Arizona, and Wisconsin, Mya became fascinated by how social relationships and cultural expectations shape public policy applications, especially within the intersectional context of organizational psychology, inter-state conflict, inter-agency negotiation, sexual and domestic violence, and the law. This fascination has led her to intern with the Special Investigations and Prosecution Division of Hawaii’s Department of the Attorney General and the United States Department of Defense. On campus, Mya serves as President of the Princeton Debate Panel, Head Fellow at the Writing Center, a SHARE Peer, and a group fitness instructor.
